49694BKT does not come with a post. The post is 3" in diameter. The post that it is photographed with is 9506BK. You can use an LED light. The LED bulb must be rated for outdoor use and an enclosed fixture. Kichler has not tested this fixture for LED's so we cannot comment on performance. The LED bulb would need to be equivalent in watts to a 100 watt medium base incandescent bulb.
