How long is my registry available on-line?

Your registry will be available online for 6 months after your event date.

Is there a charge for registering?

No, there is no charge for registry services.

How do I know what price range is best for my registry?

It is wise to register for items in all price ranges. You will probably find that your guests« gift giving budgets will vary. It is best to have items on your registry that everyone can comfortably purchase. Don't be afraid to register for a few items that will probably exceed an individual's budget. We call these items 'good group gifts'. Many couples will have a group of friends purchase one large gift.

What do I do if I need to exchange a registry gift?

We hope it's not the case, but sometimes a couple will receive duplicate gifts. To assist you, we will be happy to exchange any duplicates shown on our Gift Registration for other merchandise in our store. We ask that you schedule an appointment for making exchanges or returns within thirty (30) days following your event. If the Gift Registry shows an item purchased after the event date and after your other exchanges have been made, we will accept that exchange within thirty (30) days of the purchase date.

We offer a wide selection of china, silver, and crystal patterns that we carry in our current merchandise assortment. We accept exchanges or returns on any of these patterns. However, we do not accept exchanges or returns on special order patterns.

If you do not wish to make an exchange, we will issue a Gift Card credit. A Gift Card may be used at your convenience. There is no time or date limit. It is our policy to give cash refunds only when a cash sales receipt is returned with the merchandise. We do not credit wedding registry returns to a charge account.

How does the shipping work?

Your presents will be shipped as they are purchased for you.

How are my guests contacted about my registry?

We will send emails to all of your guests to ensure they know you've registered. You will be given the option of writing your own registry notification text for your email if you prefer!

How will I know who bought my gifts?

You can view what was bought and who purchased the gift online. Once you log into your registry you will find an option that allows you to see your purchases.

How is flatware and silver sold?

Most silverware is bought in sets.
  • A 5 piece set contains: a dinner fork, dinner knife, salad fork, soup spoon, teaspoon
  • A 20 piece set includes four 5-piece place settings
  • A 2 piece serving set (or a hostess set) usually contains an oversized serving spoon and fork.
What number of flatware and dinnerware settings should I purchase?

It is a good idea to buy the same number of flatware and dinnerware settings, typically people purchase 8-12 settings.

What are the differences between sterling silver and silver plate or stainless steel?
  • Sterling silver - In order to meet standards sterling silver must contain a minimum of 925 parts fine silver per 1000, or 92.5 percent of pure silver (the remainder of metal is alloy combined with copper which increases the durability and workability).
  • Silver Plate or "modern silver" is mostly composed of a base metal, typically zinc and through an electroplating process is coated with 100 percent silver. The quality of silver plate is determined by the thickness of the silver coating. Although silver plate doesn't carry the same appearance as sterling silver, it lasts nearly as long and is a great less expensive alternative. Silver Plated items are dish washer safe and are a great alternative for informal pieces.
  • Stainless Steel - Stainless steel is highly durable it will not chip, rust or tarnish. The composition is a mixture of steel, chromium, and nickel, and it is considered the most durable flatware for everyday use. Quality is measured by grades: 18/8 and 18/10, translating to 18 percent chromium and 8 or 10 percent nickel, respectively. The more nickel, the shinier the look of the flatware. Stainless Steel is also dishwasher safe.
What is vermeil (vair-MAY)?

A gilded sterling silver, this substance has a fine double-plating of 10 or more karat gold over the sterling silver. This is used to create a gold finish and to accentuate detail. It is elegant and lustrous. Gold electroplate is the same process of gold overlay, but on stainless steel or metal alloy in place of the sterling silver.

What are the guidelines for setting the table?
  • Set your table with utensils that will be used for that specific meal. If you aren't serving a salad, don't put out the salad fork.
  • Place the utensils in the order that they will be used based on the order the courses will be served in, from the outside in. In other words, the fork you use first is furthest away from the plate.
  • Forks always go on the left of the plate and the knife and spoon go on the right. The knife is placed next to the plate with the blade facing in.
  • A dessert fork or spoon should be placed above the plate if you would like to display those pieces on the table for the entire meal. Many hosts choose to simply bring out those pieces with dessert.
  • Bread plates are set above and to the left of your plate, and your beverage glasses, both for water and wine, are on your right.
