The pure red line is pretty but not well made. My advice woud be to buy this at a store so that you can check all of the peices before buying them. I've been engaged in a back and forth with the online merchant over whether the peices sent are first quality. While they aren't exactly damaged they aren't quite right. The online merchant wouldn't take them back unless they are damaged and otherwise will take them back only after deducting a restocking fee. The sides of the dishes aren't all smooth and have kinks in them. Others have imperfections in the detailing. If you can get good peices it's a wonderful set, very, very pretty, but the only way you can be sure to get good peices is to inspect each one before buying. I would say about 75% of the peices shipped were first quality, but the other 25% had something wrong with them.

I purchased this platter as a gift for a friend that has the pure red dinnerware. It's beautiful and the price could not be beat. She was so pleased with it!
