Comments about Mikasa Pure Red Dinner Plate 10.75":
I love these dishes--they are so beautiful! And perhaps more importantly, they are functional. When I first got them my husband was concerned that he would be relegated to using paper plates because he didn't want to mess up the "nice" plates. However, when he realized that these plates are durable, they don't scratch when using a steak knife, they are dishwasher safe, and when used in the microwave they get the food hot but not the plate, he was very happy with my selection.
Although the items I ordered were on back-order they arrived on the date anticipated. The box was barely holding together. One corner had been completely ripped apart and was taped back together. I believe a Sumo Wrestler sat on it. However, when I opened it up, only one plate was chipped (out of about 40 pieces). So, although the box itself had clearly seen better days, the stuff inside was very well packaged and safe.
I notified the company about the one broken dish and they promptly ordered a replacement.
