This is best for large meals for 4 or more people. I have been using mine for 4 years now and works great. We make an event out of it since we do ribs, sausages, and large briskets for 14 hrs! Everyone goes away soo impressed by the above-resteraunt taste of the meat.

Great smoker, but it does take a lot of wood to keep it at 200 or above. Nice to have separate grill and smoker.

The major use is a smoker and is perefectly designed to keep the 275 degree or less in the smoking tower. This makes all red meat more tender by causing it to release it's own internal enzmyes and tenderizers it (like the crock pot does).
The slow cooking keeps the meet very juicy and mouth watering.
When you need a hotter fire, the fire box is accessible for searing meats.
This grill is perfect for slow smoking port butts and tenderloins and beef ribs and sirloin tips, as well as briskets.
This is a great cooker! But is takes 5 to 8 hours and a good meat thermometer to assure doneness

Even though the heat was causing the unit to warp, we couldn't get the temperature up in the smoke tower. Maybe the electric type would have been a better choice......
