You have to walk right behind the unit and bear down to keep the head flat to pick up debris from pollen, pine needles & silt. I only have a clear water falls & pond knee deep with solid flat stone basin & walls, so I have to step in the pond to clean it. I thought the extension pole would allow me to use it from the walkway, but no. After 4 silt sock changes the battery time is gone. The motor is not water tight, must clean unit with tap water and dry with hair dryer after each use.
