Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
It would be a lot easier if the switch was marked on the bottom as to which position is steady and which is flashing. In the daylight when installing you can not tell very well. So you have to guess until you see them lit at night. So far it has not been very sunny, so there is one I am not sure is working or not.
Also I had a little difficulty locating the switch. The packaging didn't really say where the switch was located.
I would prefer a two sided display of light which would give stronger light power to 2 sides rather diffusing the light in 4 directions.
