We bought this to replace our old kitchen fixture after returning a special order light (another brand) from [...] that arrived in poor condition and was horribly made. This light is well made and very attractive looking, accentuating the crown molding in our kitchen. Because of the style please note that the light only radiates down, not out from the sides like the one we bought for our office, so you might consider getting the 4-light fixture if you want really bright light—to be honest, I wish we had, but since we have some other light sources in our kitchen we'll make this work. What we did for more illumination is replace the opaque diffuser with the clear prismatic diffuser from our old fixture; we'll probably change out the bulb to a brighter one. Really happy with this purchase, and Homeclick had it at a great price.
