I was looking for an upscale version of the faucet for my Insinkerator Hot Water Dispenser in a kitchen upgrade project. Apparently Insinkerator is marketing the faucets and tanks more independently than when I first bought my system enabling today's buyer to select from a range of faucet styles and finishes. A call to Insinkerator prior to ordering the faucet confirmed the F-GN2215 faucet would work with my older tank. The new faucet is a substantial assembly...heavy with a real quality feel. The unit comes with pre-attached hoses that are relatively easy to connect. As I had already mounted my tank under the sink cabinet before receiving the faucet, I ended up with two of the hoses being too short...but solved the dilemma by using pieces of the hosing from my old faucet, splicing with scraps of smaller brass or plastic tubing I had in my scrap box. I would recommend Insinkerator supply longer hoses...they can be easly cut to fit and are of inexpensive material. The high pressure hose connecting to the water supply was of sufficient length but as my tank did not have the matching new clip-on fitting furnished with the hose, I used the conventional compression fitting also supplied. The instructions cover this option well. A "T" fitting cut into the water supply makes this job really easy...I found one which has an installed compression fitting on one end similar to those on the metal braided supply tubes resulting in not having to cut or solder any of the copper supply lines under the sink. Of course any installation under a kitchen sink requires extra effort in an uncomfortable location...this faucet installed quickly with a single locking collar and nut on a long threaded rod extending down from the faucet body. A special wrench is supplied for this work. A rubber "o" ring is built into the base of the faucet eliminating the need to use plumber's putty to seal the sinktop. In operation, the faucet has an extremely nice feel...a good looking lever is actuated to dispense hot water...be prepared for a slight delay in the water beginning to flow after not using the system for a time. It must travel up the delivery tube from the tank where it apparently settles back after a delivery session. I'm a single guy and the dispenser is invaluable in speeding up cooking when boiling water is required...making tea is a breeze and I suspect French press coffee might be possible as well. The Insinkerator folks make quality items...in addition to the hot water dispenser with the new brushed nickle faucet, I installed a disposer and air switch control whose button mounts in one of the sink holes creating a really nice array of modern conveniences. Of course I needed a single hole hot/cold faucet for the sink...the fourth hole housing a matching side spray. I highly recommend this faucet...on-line shopping will save a bundle!
