Melior is the original classic French press coffee maker designed in the 50's, and Bodum still produces it with the same handcrafted quality as the original. The frame and lid, made of brass, undergo several chrome plating processes to obtain a durable shiny surface that will last for many years of intense use. The black santoprene handle comes in a matte finish that not only gives a comfortable grip for serving but adds to the classic quality of the design.

Brewing the 8 cups (1.0 liter, 32 oz) of coffee in a Melior classic is not only a pleasure but also the ultimate method for obtaining a delicious cup of coffee. Using a fresh coarse-ground coffee and 94°C, 201 F water is still the simplest way to bring out the very best from all types of coffee.

By the way: Be sure to buy fresh coffee. Coffee stored too long loses its flavor.

    Coffee tastes great! I think it was the paper filter that used to make drip coffee taste not so great. The aftertaste is smoother with the press.
    I also use a zassenhaus manual grinder. The process takes longer but is more rewarding and I have 2 less things plugged in on my counter.
