- Because the dasher is constructed of heavy duty cast iron, and is electro-less nickel plated, it will never warp out of shape like plastic dashers do. The imported Norwegian Beechwood blades are self-adjusting to ensure the thorough scraping of the inside of the can.
- Cheaper models use an insufficient 3000 RPM shaded pull motor. Only White Mountain uses a 12,000 RPM commercial grade universal motor that operates on AC or DC 120 volt current.
- Tall profile can design allows cream to come in closer contact with ice and salt to give faster freezing.

This makes some wonderful ice cream. I love knowing exactly what is in my kids ice cream. All the fresh ingredients and I can pronounce all of them!
I use this product to make ice cream, a White Mountain 6 qt. electic ice cream freezer. It was supposed to be a product that would last for many years.
As of almost a year, I have used it approximately eight times but this last time, I could not freeze my ice cream because the gear in the electric part sheared off, must be defective and I could not use it to turn the paddles. It was disappointing because I could not finish making my ice cream which I was looking forward to having and this electric part, the gear did not hold up under the conditions it was supposed to. Maybe it was only one out of many that was defective. For the price of the ice cream freezer, using almost one year is too expensive a purchase because the performance did not last.
I have had an electric 6 quart White Mountain ice cream freezer since 1972. It is still working; doesn't look so hot but it is great!
Everytime I make ice cream in this churn, I get so many compliments!!!! Everyone asks what kind of churn it is. The ice cream is so creamy and wonderful and I'm using the same recipes. The recipes included are awesome too. I would definitely buy this ice cream churn again. It is worth the money.
My parents had a hand crank White Mountain when I was a small child. Homemade ice-cream was a special treat at reunions, Fourth of July and Labor Day. I bought my first White Mountain 6 qt. electric in 1983 and I finally threw the wooden tub away last week. I'm ready for my second one. Not bad for 24 years! Beats everything else hands down. My children and grandchildren love grandpa's homemade ice-cream. (Me too!)
This is the best icecream maker I have ever used we went through about 20 Rivals in about 3 weeks and we only make homemade icecream 1 day a week. It also sets the icecream in half the time of the other icecream makers.
Great product. White Mountain is legendary in the ice cream making world. So glad we found it!!
I love my ice cream maker!
I think this is the best ice cream maker. We used it for the first time last night, and I can not say enough good things about it. Today, the ice cream that was left over is very good, soft and smooth as it was last night.
prefer hand crank to control consistency of finished product (ice cream)
We really enjoy making ice cream now.
I love this machine! I have been uses little "kitty" machines and finally I found a "lion" machine. [...] was the cheapest place I could find and I did my research for a long time. [...]. I use it all the time and would highly reccomnd it to anyone. - C from California
What a great product!! I bought it for father's day for my husband- he was actually excited!! Very durably constructed, a little on the noisy side, but I haven't made ice cream in about 25 years or so. So I don't have anything to compare the noise factor with. The instructions were easy to understand and it was great to have the easy recipes for ice cream in the pamplet. My family has a new hobby!! Thanks!
