Comments about Calphalon Slow Cooker 7qt.:

I received this slow cooker as a Christmas gift. I tried 5 different meals in it and all turned out to be disasters. The temperature is way too hot, even on the low setting, and the lid does not seal thereby leaving all of the liquid to evaporate. I have been using slow cookers with wonderful results for the past 25 years so in this instance the problem lies with the product not the user.

I agree with the other reviewer. I love the big size but the lid doesn't fit. First and only meal was dry and burnt - meal cooked well in my 20 year old crock pot so I can't blame the recipe. It's the lid - it doesn't seal properly and all juices evaporate. Don't buy this one!

Comments about Calphalon Slow Cooker 7qt.:

Bought this with great ambition to start cooking slow cooked feasts. Was very disappointed. First unit, lid didn't fit and first meal was a dried out brick b/c all moisture evaporated. Second unit, better fit but still not great (checked the lids of all 5 of other units at store and most didn't fit well). Next several meals bland mush. Even on low setting the fluid in the unit was at a low boil. No wonder everything tasted like mush. That's what happens when you boil things for 6 hours!! Ended up taking it back. Will try a cheaper unit and stick to soups and chili I guess. Too bad. Also, 7 quart is way too big unless you have a giant family.
