    The Espresso Machine's body, controls and tamping head are formed using the highest-grade aluminum and zinc. The result is the ultimate in durability and performance, and a more refined finish. With a full 4.5 inch clearance, this is the first machine designed to accommodate larger cups and travel mugs, making it ideal not just for Espresso, but for Cappuccino and Café Latte. The fully die-cast selector dial enables simple switching between Espresso, steam and hot water. Alternate between hot water and steam using the illuminating solid steel buttons. Prior to extraction, the unique 15 bar Triple-Prime pump automatically releases three bursts of hot water into the filter head, causing the ground coffee or Espresso pod to expand. This increases pressure, allowing the machine to extract more crema, giving the coffee a rich, smooth texture and taste. The stainless steel steam wand is mounted on a swivel ball for easy maneuverability. It produces continuous dry steam for barista-style milk and froth. The wand also dispenses hot water on demand.

    I plugged the machine in and the pump started immediately. The On-Off switch had no affect except to turn a light on and off—it did not stop the pump. The water all went into the drain tray, which quickly overflowed onto my counter. The manual was no help and trying everything I could think of didn’t solve the problem. The only way to stop the pump was to unplug the machine. When I called the vendor, I was given the choice of a replacement unit or a full refund, and I chose the refund. I guess I’ll buy a more expensive espresso machine made by some other company.

    I love this machine. It's perfect for the novice espresso drinker. The only negitive is having to plug in and unplug before and after each use. This machine was well worth the investment

    Typically, I do not take the time to fill out one of these comment cards - but I want to share my satisfaction with this machine. Just returned from Italy where I enjoyed the perfect cup of expresso and Cap every day. I was determined to buy a good expresso machine, no matter the cost. I did my research and found that the Breville was top rated across the board and well worth the [$] retail price. In short, I purchased the Breville 800ESXL for far less on [...]. I was very surprised with the quality of the machine - top quality to say the least. Makes the perfect cup every time, plenty of steam for froth etc. I have used the machine for more than 3 weeks and not one complaint. Well maybe one, I wish the expresso was hotter, just a bit. Otherwise a top quality machine for a great price. Ciao

    This is my second Breville expresso machine. I have one in each of my homes. The first one I bought is quieter and more efficient. This one steams alot and is excessively noisy. Not sturdy. I think it is just a factory mishap. Clearly I wouldn't have ordered a second if I didn't like the product.
