I had a top of the Krups before this machine and I was happy for many years with it. So, I looked for a machine with good reviews, was economical, and would be superior in areas were my Krups was lacking.

I really like the "shower head" design for the brewing process and the "Aroma" feature, though it takes longer, is well worth the slower brewing time for the coffee is richer in flavor. I get a better tasting brew with the same amount of grounds with this 12 cup machine than I did with my previous 10 cup machine. So, that means I'll save money in this way too.

I labeled this machine as stylish but it is also classic. I really don't like the industrial or boxy styled makers being produced these days. And it seems hardly any are white any more. Stainless steel is okay, but matches nothing in my kitchen.

The grounds basket swings out and will cause grounds to get into the coffee if it is not clicked shut. So, unlike simply flipping a lid down (like in older makers), you just need to take care on this point.

Also, this is very minor, but I don't like the red lights that display for the Aroma and programmed setting. Perhaps a setting dial or switch would be better; it just seems unnecessary (and gawdy).
