Comments about Capresso Infinity Conical Burr Grinder in ABS Housing:
I'm not sure I'm a coffee "aficionado" but I AM very picky about my coffee. I've only had this unit a couple of weeks.
I recently moved and have not found the Capresso burr grinder that I've had for more than 5 years. I finally decided I had to buy another grinder...pre-ground coffee just doesn't cut it, especially with a french coffee press.
This unit is much more quiet than my previous burr grinder; holds more beans than I need to grind at any one time. Cleaner than my older one too.
The bean hopper feeds better than my old one. With my old one, I had to shake the unit to get the last tablespoon of beans ground. This unit feeds wonderfully down through the last bean with no shaking (or other help).
Most of the time I only use it on weekends and days off, when I'm using my French Press to make coffee.
I've not tried to grind any very oily beans, yet. But most of the beans I use are dark roast with a few medium dark roasts.
I like that there are 4 marks for each grind setting option (coarse through extra fine). So far I've not found anything that I didn't like or weren't "so great."
I'm the only one who uses the grinder, so this will not be an issue for me: I was going to double-check the grind setting today and couldn't remember where the grind indicator was and could not readily see which grind was selected.
I'll have to re-read the manual to figure this out. Missing/not seeing the indicator could just be "operator error." If not, this could be an issue for a household with different people using different grinds.
I have not had it long enough to discuss reliability. I did follow the instructions for getting started and had no problems there. Used it as soon as I received it and could get it setup. It worked well and quietly from the start.

simply, i wish this came in at least white and stainless steel. the black isn't too attractive on my countertop, and the unit is a bit large for the cabinet.

Comments about Capresso Infinity Conical Burr Grinder in ABS Housing:
I have used the Capresso Infinity for two years, once or twice a day, to grind for a wide range of coffee equipment, from Turkish and espresso through French press and vacuum brewers, and for a wide range of coffee sizes and roasts. All parts of the machine are plastic except for the motor and burrs.
The Infinity provides reliable, uniform grinds. It has a low speed, low heat motor the produces a pleasing rumble as it grinds. The bean hopper twists out of the machine to reveal a removable top burr that provides for easy cleaning. The bean grinder triggers a safety switch that prevents the machine from operating when the hopper is removed and the burrs are exposed. When in place the bean hopper is twisted on the machine to set clearly marked grind size. The Infinity I have was set with more than enough range on the fine end of the grind spectrum, but not enough range on the coarse end.
