The cake plate will only hold a 8" cake and I had to special order 8" cake pans.

This cake plate is for small items. I was dissappointed when it would not hold a regular 8" cake. I had bought it to display a red velvet cake for Christmas however upon receing it I discovered it was too small and yet is called a "cake plate."
