Reminiscent of Hinoki sushi boards, the Tatami line in Rosenthal's A La Carte series rises off the table, opening up like a squared-off lotus. It has almost an Art Deco look, yet retains a thoroughly contemporary focus. It is really a joy to use, with clean lines accentuating the food. The bowls are deep, making maximum use of the set's compact footprint.
