I had to cut a piece of plywood to make this bed work without a frame. I'd go ahead and buy a frame if I had it to do again. This thing looks great, but I will say the construction is a little flimsy. Be careful about assembling the canopy. You can bend the bars out of shape VERY easily.

This bed was purchased to transition my 5 year old from a toddler bed to a twin bed. She is so happy about her big girl bed, and I am happy that she no longer slips into my bed at night. The bed is the perfect size for her quaint room.
