This was a nice item for cutting down the ol' propane usage for the heating season. I have it in the basement to heat 2000sf. It is set at level 1 of 4 and keeps it about 68-70 degrees. Turn it up to level 2 and it gets about 73 degrees. It uses about one 40lb bag of pellets a day on level 1. I loved it that it was installed in less than 1 hour. I still have a new wood stove that hasn't been installed because the chimney will take hours to install. If it wasn't for this unit requiring electricity to run, I would install a second one upstairs too. I think that they should cost less though for how simple they are made.
Delivery was quick for the item. It arrived in a nice wood crate to keep it safe. I did email this seller company customer service 2x to ask questions after the purchase, and received confirmations that they were read, but never received replies. Not really happy about that. Propel was almost as bad. Although they took over a week to reply, at least they replied.

I disagree with the last review. First off the manufacturer of this product has been the best co. I have talked to in a long time. I called and asked questions before I purchased, then called and went through a burn set up after I installed it and they were very helpful all the way through. I have a 1900 sqft home and it is heating the entire home at 68 to 70 deg. on the #2 setting burning 80% pellets and 20% corn and it is 13 deg. outside. I do have to clean it out every 2 to 4 days depending on the pot. The only reason that I did not give this a 5 star is becouse it is a base unit it does not have all the bells and whistles. But for the price I got this for when it was on special I am very happy. Just do your homework on the wright unit and location in your home to get the most out of the heat. I also have been using the ceiling fans in all rooms in reverse to help pull the heat. I hope this helps.

needs to run longer before cleaning out clinker, stove should have a beater in the burn pot to break up the clinker, will only run about four hours before it needs to be cleaned out. have looked at other corn stoves and they all have one. must have been why it was so cheap. wont run through the night. is out every morning. sorry i bought it now. called the manufacture and left a message. they never got back to me.

While this stove is very plain looking it was quite an extroidinary value for under 1000 dollars. I just installed it yesterday and was quite surprised at how much heat it throws off in a very short time. My living room is 12X23 and it raised the temp from 62 to 75 in about 15 minutes. The only downfall at this point is that I didn't get the electronic ignitor.

I liked the Danson's stove I bought in 2004 for my garage so much that I bought this one for my house! Very easy to operate and maintain. We burn stricly wood pellets and not corn. Puts out alot of heat, infact, our house is over 2000sq ft and it has no problem heating it. What it lacks in the looks department more than makes up for it in the heating department. One small issue is that I had to purchase a seperate thermostat control module for it to run on a remote wall mounted thermostat. These are available thru Danson's. Also, it does not include an ignitor, however, this is also available seperatly.

We've been cutting, splitting our own wood for 30+ years, so we're not "newbies". After reading EVERYTHING the company published, including all on-line manuals we decided to buy a PelPro and burn wood pellets. Following the suggested add-ons, we got a thermostat and extension hopper. Installation went without a hitch. We used 2" EMT (electrical conduit)and mounting hardware for our outside air intake system and it works well. All couplers were sealed with a generous helping of high heat RTV silicone as suggested in the operation manual. In order to make the conduit fit the stove air inlet (slightly smaller than the EMT coupling) we cut a 2" piece off the conduit. Then we cut a slot running from one open end to the other (lengthwise) so it would compress, and slipped it into the coupling. It fit perfectly. We are VERY happy we bought the stove, and it doesn't have a big learning curve if you've burned before. The one thing I wish I could change is the control panel location. It's mounted on the right rear corner of the stove, and at floor level. You have to look straight-on to see the true settings, and that means you have to kneel down on the floor.[...]

unit uses a bag of pellets a day on low I do not know if there are really any savings over using gas
Comments about Dansons Group PelPro Corn Burning Stove:
I am currently burning a 50/50 blend of corn and pellets. The corn tends to leave a little more ash residue than what I was expecting but for the most part the even heat flow is much better than I got from the wood burning stove.
Its a lot easier to stack a couple bags of wood pellets and corn than it is to cut, split, stack and restack wood.

What it lacks in aesthetics it more than makes up for in efficiency. It heats our whole downstairs and keeps our upstairs from overheating from the downstairs thermostat working overtime. Uses a 50lb bag of feed corn/day on the weekends, and a bag lasts all week for just evening use.
