I purchased this product to put in my rather large master bedroom (22ft. X 14ft.). It was the only corner unit I could find that matched the birch bedroom furniture that we have. It looks great as a decorative piece of furniture, but falls short as a functional heater. The visual effects of the flames are better than most of the lesser priced units, but are noticeably unrealistic. Another annoyance is that the motor that drives the simulated flame effects makes a loud whining noise and the heater blower is very loud as well. This takes away from the ambiance of what should be a relaxing environment. Overall, I would recommend the fireplace if you are looking more for decor instead of functionality. Also, the price is very steep for the value.
