This thing is about 4 times cheaper than an inexpensive stationary bidet, but this is not the reason I went for it. The bidet can be more convenient. But the Washlet is portable, you can take it on your trip, to your workplace - THIS is the win for me.

Its design is very practical, very well thought trough: folding and cover for portability, access to a hard-to-access tap, hygiene etc. Nice piece of work!

My mother in law has a Toto in her master bath and all the grand kids really love it.(I wonder why)? When she purchased her Toto it came with a portable washlet. We were on vacation together and she showed me her portable Toto, so I just had to have one. Well I just love it,I use it every day and it does the job. No complaints here. Try one!

During a hike, there is no really good way to be as clean as one can be after a shower. However, this product comes close, at least in the areas that matter most. I've found that using a washcloth to dry may occasionally show that the washlett stream isn't enough for total cleanliness. However, it's pretty close. The combination of water and a washcloth feels much cleaner than what can be accomplished using just paper.

The washlett stream isn't heated. So, for hiking use during cold days, I would recommend carrying a flask under a coat to pre-heat the washlett water.

The unit's tank holds around a pint and extends out from the unit during use. At first, I thought this unit would leak due to that design. However, the unit is made well enough that this does not seem to be a problem.

Overall, a nice product to have if you need to go a while without having a real shower.
