I like the Toto Aquia for its sleek style and water efficiency. The hardest part of the purchase decision is to assertain that the Aquia will works with the installation site, especially with the location of the water supply pipe. The installation document does not specify how much space is available between the back of the toilet bowl and the wall. This info is important since it might affect the installabbility of the Aquia on your site. I had to go to a local bath store to physically look at the Aquia and measure the space in the back of the toilet to determine that it would work for my powder room before I went ahead with ordering the Aquia.

Most people have already commented on how great this toilet is, and I agree completely. So I will just add these observations:
-due to the design, it's very easy to clean (straight surfaces, no bolt covers, etc)
-Guests may not know how to use dual-flush. I wish Toto provided something more attractive than the plastic sticker ("1 drop" left button; "2 drops" right button).
-When you go about your business and the water level in the bowl rises, you can hear water running down the drain. Others have mentioned this as well, but I want to point out that I've used many low water-spot toilets in Europe, and never experienced this before. It's a little annoying. Regardless, I will put this toilet in our future bathroom. This toilet is the perfect example of having it both ways. Why use outdated technology in your bathroom?

This water saving toilet is sleek and elegant. It works very efficiently, often requiring only the lowest level of water usage to flush effectively! This first one is in our master bath, but we have two other toilets that I will replace with this model as soon as possible. I keep dragging my friends and neighbors in to see my new Toto toilet; they think I'm odd.

Retailer should describe design (components) and provide a preview of installation procedure (mounting trap to floor), as some do-it-yourselfers with ceramic tile floors may not wish to tackle the required drilling.
Manufacturer's technical assistance was consulted and was helpful.
Water efficiency feature (choice of full or partial water volume) is very nice, works well, and probably should be mandatory in some locales.

We have had this toilet for 20 months now and it's performance is nearly perfect. With our old 1.6 g toilet we had a "stylish" plunger right next to the toilet because it was needed a couple of times a week. So far this toilet has flushed fully 100% of the time. Value of dual flush is great! As others have noted you need to get use to a couple of differences vs. other toilets like the small water spot and water escaping. Not sure why Toto doesn't use their SanaGloss technology on the Aquia. This might help the staining issue. Installation was slow, but probably more because I was doing rather than using a plumber. Also it is installed on tumbled marble making things a bit more difficult. Also found some of the mounting anchors were a bit too small. Getting some new anchors fixed the problem. The soft landing toilet seats are also very nice. Only problem is sometimes the seat doesn't want to stay in the up position and starts lowering itself. Makes for an interesting juggling act.

Our experience with this toilet has been so good we are getting the same unit for our other two bathrooms.

We specifically looked for a dual flush toilet to save water and cost in the long-run. I found two that were on the market and I opted for the Toto, because of reviews I have read on other sites.

So far the toilet performs flawlessly and I'm especially thrilled about its efficiency. Two things you need to be aware of are the small European-style water spot, (which I personally prefer) and the light trickle of water escaping from the bowl into the pipe when you urinate.

90% of the time you will find the half flush using 0.9 gallon per flush is totally sufficient. I hear the toilet is hard to install, but my plumber had no problem and had it all in place within 90 minutes.

Very nice but could be improved
By Potty PooperVerified Purchaser from Big D on 10/16/2007
Pros:
Good Value, Sleek Design, Water Efficient
Cons:
Difficult To Install
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Has a nice look to it and conserves water very well.

Cons: Hard to install, has a trickling noise after relieving oneself and solid matter tends to leave marks on the side of the bowl which is not completely cleaned with the flushing.

If the cons could be improve by Toto, this would be the best toilet on the market, by far.

Not only is this a great looking toilet, but it's very quiet and efficient, too. I installed it by myself, with help from my teenage son; it's very heavy. It took us about two hours, start to finish, and when we were done, it worked perfectly. The instructions are fairly straightforward, though the pictures and graphics should be improved to be more useful. I love the self-closing cover for it's quiet efficiency. The dual mode flushing works very well, exactly as advertised.

Very pleased with the toilet. I thought it's crazy to optimize on the toilet, but found this great price/value for an excellent product. Efficient in removing waste, dual flush works great. Flushing button on the top is easy and convinient to reach especially if the toilet is positioned close to a wall.
