We've used it for about a month, and have not needed a second flush, even with large loads. It's amazing to us since we were used to a lot of water coming down in our old toilet, and it takes some getting used to believing that the very short flushing cycle does the job. But it does.As for the soft-close seat, that's also nice feature, but we wonder how our guests, who have no clue, will respond to it. So far, no one has asked about it, so perhaps they are coping.The purchase was also absolutely painless,[...]I installed it in about an hour, all by myself, except for lifting it onto the floor bolts, for which I had help so I wouldn't damage the wax ring.

I have been using the same toilet in the elongated version in my master bath for four years with no problems so I bought this one to replace a failing toilet in the kids' bathroom a few weeks ago. My five year old did manage to clog it once already with half a roll of toilet paper, but I don't think it was the toilet's fault. After a quick plunging everything was fine. It's a little wide around the mid-section so there isn't as much room for a trashcan between the toilet and the cabinet now, but on the plus side the wide ridge makes it easier to carry. I really like the one-piece design in general. Having one less spot for a leak to develop is a plus. It's heavier since you can't carry the pieces separately but once you get it in you'll be happy.

I've just purchased my fourth TOTO Ultramax. I bought the first two in 2007 for the master bath and a hallway bath. I had a plumber do the installation, so I don't know how difficult they are to install. But I do know that they work very well--I've had no trouble with either of them. In spite of the fact that they are low water users, I can't remember ever having to flush a second time to get the job finished. I've just purchased two more because I'm replacing the flooring in the two guest baths and it gives me a good excuse to change out the old toilets.
The delivery was resonably prompt for motor freight and the products arrived undamaged. The only drawback is that there is no tracking of the delivery, so you don't know if it's on the way or not. The motor freight company simply calls when the product has arrived in town and makes arrangements for delivery. I knew what to expect the second time, so I didn't stress about it.

I was a little skeptical about ordering a new toilet on-line to replace our 56 year old one but we needed to find a small toilet that would work in our small bathroom. Put away the plunger. I purchase a Toto a few years ago,it works so well I bought another one for my small bath. I had Amer Standard and it clogged all the time. We need to flush in small batches. Also, the Toto seems to fill much faster. [...] I highly recommend Toto toilets and HC.

I have purchased my first Toto toilet, 5 years ago and is working flawless. This determined me to purchased another three toilets for my four unit apartment building. The quality of the product is excellent with a powerful siphon jet flushing action, water efficient, only 1.6 gallon per flash and a soft close seat, that you can not find in the more expensive toilets. I recently sold our house, and after we moved into our new home - I wished I had my old toto toilet. The model that I had at the old house is no longer made, so I bought an ultramax thinking it hade the same flush mechanism as my old toto. It does not have the same flush - it is better then my old toto which I thought was the best toilet I ever owned. The ultramax is fantastic! I do wish that I had bought the elongated seat, the round seat is a little small.

This is a good looking little toilet. It really does flush VERY well, and FAST! It's also quiet. I bought this particular toilet because I wanted one that would not need to be flushed more than once. And this TOTO does that. We discovered that if you flush and let go of the handle, it will only use 1/2 of the tank. If you flush and hold the handle, it will use the entire tank. Great water saver!
The only 'con' is the fact that the bowl, like a lot of european toilets, does not have enough water in it to keep "stuff" from sometimes sticking to it.

So far, so good. Several plumbers tried to talk me out of a Toto toilet. But, after 2 weeks use, I am agreeing with the positive research I personally found. For a high end product with such a good reputation, I am suprised that the toilet seat lid (slow close) is such light weight plastic. I expected it to be more substantial. I love the one-piece design - easy to clean, and looks good.

The tank top is very poorly designed. Rather than fitting on top of the tank, it is affixed by velcro. I didn't know about the velcro the first time I lifted it and it fell off and broke! Although we like the look and the specs, we probably won't be buying a Toto for our master bathroom.

I already had a Toto toilet and bought two more [...]. They are easy to install (did it myself), quiet, water efficient and look great. I have one in every bathroom. One problem that arose after I installed the first toilet was the valve system in the tank was leaking and it was determined that my high water pressure was causing it. Toto recommends about 45-50 psi and mine is 85-90 psi. I am in the process of getting a plumber out to install a regulator so I can dial back my pressure. A small price to pay for great product.

On the advice of my sister (who had purchased one of these Ultramax Toto toilets), I purchased two toilets when I renovated my bathrooms. I couldn't be more pleased. When you flush, everything goes the first time. No need to flush again. I was so impressed with this product that when I needed to replace another toilet in a high rise condo, I purchased a 3rd. The soft-close seat is a bonus.

I had never seen one of these fixtures in 'real life', but I ordered one based on the favorable online reviews. It seems kind of weird to be excited about a toilet, but I love it! It works as well as I had hoped and it looks great in my new bathroom.
