Perfect size and stylish for a small bathroom

This is the second Starck 3 toilet we've purchased to complete our remodel and we absolutely love it. In fact, you wouldn't expect to get compliments on a toilet, but we have!
For the price, you will not find a toilet that is better designed. Trust me, I looked.
Delivery was great, but note that this arrives in a large semi, which may pose a problem for some. Call to ensure the kind of truck you need for delivery, if there are limitations on where you live.

This is a great product, but for whatever reason the seat seems to small, does not cover the toilet rim. Otherwise works easy and looks very nice.

Comments about Duravit Starck 3, US Type 1.6gpf Toilet with Cistern, Seat and Cover - D19055:
Toilet is not quite as pretty in person as it is in photos, but still looks better than most of the U.S. made toilets for the price range.
Externally, the toilet is very well constructed.
Internally, the float system in the tank is very cheap and leaks somewhat, which is dismaying for such a highly considered item. Please note, these toilets are not made in Germany, but in China, hence the price.
Please also be aware that this toilet needs a very flat and level floor for installation. I installed it on a slate floor, which is irregular in surface and some ground work was required. Also, the bottom siphon platform, to which the wax seal attaches, is much lower than regular, run-of-the-mill U.S. made toilets and can cause some problem when installing. This can be attributed to stricter European construction standards.
I replaced a very cheap (Contractor installed) Gerber with this toilet. The Gerber would clog on the smallest item and was generally pretty ugly, as far as toilets go. The trap in the Starck3 is better designed, but still not as large as I would prefer. Also, the literature stipulates that this toilet is a dual-flush, but in action this is not the case. If, by 'dual flush', they mean flip the lever down and let it go for the small water flush, and hold it down until all the water goes for the full flush, this is not a selling point but rather something that every single toilet made has.
All in all, I am pleased with the toilet, but would prefer the internals be better made and the 'DUAL FLUSH' be real as apposed to hyperbole.
Item was backordered due to seat not being in-stock.
Toilet and tank were shipped a full month before seat was shipped requiring me to purchase a seat elsewhere as this needed to be installed as soon as possible.
Great price on shipping (FREE!)
Packing was well done and nothing was damaged.
UPS ground actually delivered 1 day before the 3 day contract, never done before in chicago!

We bought two of these and are very satisfied with them. Nice design, fairly neutral but clean and contemporary.

We ordered the first one and had it installed in the guest bathroom. About 6 months later we ordered the second one and love it.

Comments about Duravit Starck 3, US Type 1.6gpf Toilet with Cistern, Seat and Cover - D19055:
Installed in the downstairs bathroom, getting another one for the master bathroom. This is a sleek fixture, both elegant and sturdy. The toilet tank is as narrow as the bowl, making for a good fit in narrow spaces. The design is both clean looking and, because of simple contours and a concealed trapway, easy to keep clean. Fairly large water spot and elongated bowl keep it clean from the inside, too - if you know what I mean. The toilet flushes well, but I've found that one has to hold down the handle for a full tank discharge - perhaps that's an adjustment. The zero-digit oblong seat shape seems unusual at first (though cool-looking) and the opening itself is a bit wider than most seats, but I've found this to be a plus - and I'm fairly slim, so I can imagine that someone who isn't would even better appreciate the extra space. Toilet height is just right, higher than normal but not quite the observation platform that some ADA-compliant toilets are.
