Comments about GE 30 in GE Cafe 5.0 cu ft Self Clean Convection Slide In Gas Range - CGS980SEMSS:
One big gigantic problem- the design boys at GE have the metal gas line two and a half inches away from the back of the stove instead of flat to the back of the stove as gas stoves have had for 30 years. If your gas stub comes out of the wall on the right half of the back of the stove you are screwed. Your stove will sit 2.5 inches from the wall leaving a giant gap in the back and protruding too far out in the front. When I contacted GE- they referred me to the owners manual. The stupidity of both their actions ( the design and the response to the problem) is just so pathetic it defies words. Hey GE- how about you just spend the nine cents to bend the gas line flat to the back of the stove like every other gas stove ever built.(Including the GE Profile I just replaced). Now I have this turkey sitting a mile from the wall and jutting out in the front. Also GE, most people don\'t read the install manual until they actually have the stove, and the location of the gas stub & electrical are not up to the homeowner. They are already built into the home.

Haven<t found a source of answers not covered in the manual. G.E. customer service is useless.

Pro-looking range with lots of features. I love the warming oven and the extra burner. The smallest burner does a nice job keeping things hot and the large burners a big plus.
