We installed a commercial grade refrigerator as part of kitchen remodel and eliminated the normal ice maker etc. Adding this under counter in the island really works nice. Makes a lot of ice quickly. The mechanism much like an ice maker found in fountain vending machines or those at a hotel. With that comes a little noise, but not bad. Be aware that you MUST install a drain for these units! (far to much excess water for a drip pan)
