Comments about Fisher & Paykel Single DishDrawer - DS605:
I love when I throw parties, I can clean delicate items in one drawer and everyday items, pans, utensils etc.in the other. I have had mine for 3 years now, absolutely love them and now putting in a single drawer in the basement in our bar!

Comments about Fisher & Paykel Single DishDrawer - DS605:
This machine has gotten a lot of (unfair) negative reviews. I bought my FIRST one about 6 years ago. I never had any problems, but when it was about 2 years old, there was a recall and I was GIVEN a new one for free. It has worked flawlessly for the last 4 years. Recently we decided to do some cabinet alterations so that we could install a second one on the other side of the sink. The new one looks identical, but the sealing system is different. The older models use some sort of inflating gasket; the new model uses (I think) a mechanical drop-down lid that seals the tub. Either way, I've had ZERO problems with either one. NEVER A SINGLE LEAK - NO FAILURES from either.
It is important to note that (as stated by others) this machine is not a garbage disposal - it is a dishwasher. It does have a collection basket and screen in the bottom to catch small amounts of undissolvable food debris, but you sould rinse dishes before running them. Also you have to use common sense when loading items - they obviously can't be sticking up taller than the drawer (duh) or you could cause damage to the seal when closing it.
Proper loading takes some prctice and experience, but if done reasonably this machine does a great job.
With two single drawer models as we have, it is a very convieneint family setup. It is quiet, efficient, stylish, and has considerable "wow - cool" factor.
