This product is an essential addition to the LG steam washer and matching dryer. If your like me and your appliances are outside in the garage then this is what you need. All we have to do now is glance up on the wall and see how much time is left on either one. Though warning bell is loud sometimes can't be heard but this mnitor can always be seen.

I bought this and thought I'd just plug and play. Not so. After installing (plugging in) the modules into their respective ports on the washer and dryer and following the directions in the included manual the unit did not read either the washer OR the dryer. If this happens to you try the following:
1) Unplug the remote monitor
2) Follow the directions in the manual to reset the Home Code on the washer & the dryer. Make sure you see "HCR" displayed in the LCD display on the machines.
3) Plug the remote monitor back in.
4) Wait for it to set up. After the display goes dark, hold the Waher/Dryer button in for 3 seconds until you see the word "SET" display in the remote's LCD.
That should do it!! You're all setup.

Laundry Romote Monitoring system is the coolest thing out yet. I now know when the washer or dryer is finished or even what cycle they are on. And all from another floor.

My laundry is in my garage and now because I bought this I no longer have to set my kitchen timer as my reminder. Very easy to set up and now I can see what my laundry is doing from my easy chair! Love it!

Our laundry room is at one end of the house and we can't here the buzzer in many rooms so the idea of a remote made sense. WHile the device is useful in that you can see the status of both the washer and dryer in another room, the tone when the cycle is done is quieter than my watch chime, so it's useless if you move one room away.

This remote laundry monitor is extremely handy especially since the annoying beeps of the washer and dryer can barely be heard outside of the laundry room. I put it next to the TV in the living room so I can see the progress of my laundry while watching TV and don't have to be concerned about whether or not the laundry finished without me hearing the beeps at the end of the cycle. The cons...1. The washer and dryer both need to have a modem (that comes with the monitor) installed on the back, which of course means you need to go through the hassle of disconnecting them and pulling them away from the wall to do the installation. Other than that, the installation was easy.[...]

Great product. Sleek, good looking and functional. About time someone thought of this. Sound of chime is very low and cannot be adjusted upwards. But having this unit beats going downstairs to check status.
The laundry monitor works perfectly, and saves me so many trips up and down the stairs! Before I bought it, I thought that it was a frivolous purchase, and now I've absolutely come to depend upon it. This has really made doing laundry more pleasant, and if you can afford the washer and dryer, chances are that you can afford the monitoring system. Well worth the price...
