We have not had any smoking issues. We use Popcorn kernels designed for Hot Air Poppers.
When the kernels begin to pop about 1/3 of them are thrown out. The product that gets popped is fine.
The design needs improvement. Not like the hot air poppers, we had in the 70's.
I would only recommend if you want a cool dust catcher.
