I have owned my Kitchenaide mixer for about 20 years, and it serves me very well. I really thought the opener was going to be top rate. I am very disappointed with the operation. It does not open the cans completely even after 8-10 revolutions. I even tried putting a lifting pressure on the cans to open them and also pressing down on the blade. I am very sorry I bought this item.

This is a great unit, but the Can opener has a needlessly long back post and protrudes from the front of the Mixer about 5 inches.
