I purchased this item to cook a fish dinner and I am happy that I did. Neither the cooking well, nor the basket are large, so it is not capable of frying large amounts of food at one time. The variable temperature settings allow the user to select the perfect temperature to cook food throughly and evenly. The interior of the unit heats up really quickly, but the outside remains cool to the touch. There is also a nice metal basket that allows food to be submerged, or to allow the oil to drain from the cooked food before serving. This unit is very affordable and well worth purchasing.
