I've had mine for several years with all the same parts. I use it mostly to make drinks with frozen fruit mixed with bananas and juice and I am still using the same blade that came with it! The lid has notches that are used to unscrew the blade. At first I didn't like this, but it stays on very tightly and little kids can't take it off and lose it by accident.
