Comments about Nordic Ware Kettle Smoker Indoor/Outdoor Cooker:

I was pleasantly surprised at how smokey the beef ribs were, although there was only a small amount of smoke aroma in the house. Meat was done to perfection, although maybe not as browned as an open outdoor grill would produce. Application of BBQ sauce changed color to rich red-brown, though. The smoker hung over the edges of my electric eye stovetop (I tried it on two eyes) and left a scorched ring that had to be removed with scrubbing. I don't know whether I had some invisible food residue that burned or whether the heat of the pan itself was high. The thermometer was great, allowing me to set a temperature for cooking and watch to see that it stayed there. My stove eyes are close to the surface of the stovetop, so I imagine a gas stove would have no problem with a scorch ring. I love it and even like the nice, neutral brick red color.
