I use it with wood chip charcoal and an electric fire starter which makes for a very clean flavor. I line the inside of the grill with foil to make clean-up easier.

There is only one problem: when moving the grill by the handle it is out of balance and tips. This causes the top door to fall off. The trick: take it off before moving it; otherwise, this is the perfect habachi!

Great grill. Comes well seasoned from the factory. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. Perfect for small grilling jobs, kabobs, 2 small steaks or chops etc.

Remembering our newly wed days of 39 years ago, my wife and I had a small cast iron habachi grill that was just big enough for the two of us to enjoy everday grilling. Altho we now have [$] 650 lb. all stainless steel Gran Turbo gas grill that we use for heavy duty grilling and family get togethers. We missed our old habachi for everyday grilling now that it is just the two of us again. We had been looking for a replacement for over a year when I saw the Sportsman Grill in the newsletter. It arrived early Tuesday morning and we were grilling on it Tuesday evening. I had forgotten how much fire it took to heat up all that cast iron, but in no time we were remembering the early days of just the two of us. We have used the Sportsman Grill several times since and it has more than met our expectations of big grill flavor from a small grill. Thanks for the memories and the great products and service.

This is even better than a previous model I had but my earlier model had legs that allowed to to be able to serve as a grill this needs a table, I would have preferred to have Legs available [...].
