The product is beautiful but the serving pieces have more "sand pebbles" in the stoneware than the place settings.

Use everyday and love my original set of dishes as they are very durable even with granite counters. But when buying replacement pieces they were not up to quality I expected. Pin spots on back were rough. Color did not match original manufacturer. Pieces were not the same size. Also the glaze was different and there was a LOT less speckling than the first manufacturer. My son, who is not usually observant of dishes commented that the new ones felt completely different than the old ones and did not look the same. Company could not satisfy me with my complaints. Now I have two place settings that I paid a lot for that don't match my original purchase. If you purchase any products from Mikasa make sure you purchase enough at one time to allow for breakage as future purchases may not look like the original pieces purchased and may not be the same quality as your original purchase.
