Like all the Lenox Continental Dining line, this is microwavable and dishwasher safe. We use it as our everyday dishes and for fine dining too. The large pasta/soup bowl feels a bit too large; we probably should have gotten the standard size. Problem is, with the very wide rim, it's nearly impossible to slurp soup directly from the bowl - you have to use a spoon. If you're the type who wouldn't dream of doing that, then these bowls will do fine.
