Kettles were everywhere we traveled in the UK and NZ, and tea-drinking was constant (as were coffee presses). We've finally caught on: A fast, safe kettle is a great convenience. This one does the job very well -- it's stainless and very quick. Safety features include a blue "on" light, auto-shutoff at boil, and cordless use (powered through a connector on the base). One tip: auto-shutoff is delayed if the reservoir is filled to or above the "max" capacity line. We use filtered water and so do not anticipate serious scaling problems that "hard water" could cause.
