Great little coffee maker but there are problems with the lid: 1.)It's hard to get on and off under the best circumstances; 2.)There is a "gasket" that shifts into the wrong position (prevents you from being able to put the lid on) that is a pain to correct; 3.)The inside lip of the lid (that secures it to the pot) started separating after 2 weeks.

I bought this to take to hotels that don't have in room coffee makers. It is larger than most 4 cup makers so a little harder to pack. The coffee is too hot to drink straight from the steel mug, so you need to take cups to use.

After breaking an endless number of carafes, I decided to give this one a try due to the stainless steel carafe, but I don't use it as a travel cup and have a hard time getting the top on and off. I brew the coffee without the top on the carafe, and it seems to work fine, although i would like a top for the carafe.

It's been a month and despite vinegar cleansings and water flushings the plastic taste is still there. A mark inside the reservoir to allow for a half-pot brew would be nice. As it stands it's a guessing game. Also, having a 30 minute delay on the auto shut-off would be great. With the immediate burner kill if you don't grab it as soon as it's done brewing and suck down the pot as fast as possible it cools off quickly. Also, the top of the pot is difficult to take off for cleaning. I love the attachment to the pot which allows for it to fit into the cup holder in the car without transferring to a go mug. Other than the 4-cup size, which was key to the purchase decision, that's the best I can say.

I am very disappointed since other Delonghi product in family is super. The coffee is not hot upon brewing . The claim that the thermal carafe keeps hot for hours is not true , if it stays for 45 min. I'm lucky. The only way I can get coffee reasonably hot is to take the time to preheat the carafe with hot water for 5 minutes before brewing. Hopefully I just got a " LEMON "

I was looking for a stainless steel carafe to avoid multiple returns to the coffee maker. On that point, this coffee maker delivers. HOWEVER, the lid of the carafe is clumsy. It's difficult to seat properly because it snaps on. The rubber ring/seal often slips down and I have to manually move it back into place. Not the best design. It's also not easy to drink directly from as advertised. The carafe lid needs to be redesigned!
