Comments about McCulloch 14 Amp Electric Chipper Shredder - MCS2001:
The hardest part was putting it together. The motor assembly weighed about 50 pounds and putting the handles on was a nightmare. It was too heavy to maneuver and the holes were not aligned properly. It took two of us to get it together and my friend is an expert tool man. He commented on the poor quality of the assembly procedure.
Once it was finally together I found it OK to use. It does what it is designed to do. That's all I wanted.

Great for dry leaves...run them through twice to get adequately mulched product. Works well on dry twigs, etc...terrible with any matter that's damp or still green!
Sure to help the composting, and reduces the amount put out to the street!
Delivered quickly, efficienty, and cost-effectively! Will use Hechinger.com again!!!

Comments about McCulloch 14 Amp Electric Chipper Shredder - MCS2001:
This chipper-Shredder must be given only a handful of feed at a time. The plastic infeed cover, or "Top Hamper", (probably added because of safety concerns,) prevents any large amount of input at a time. The infeed "slot" must be cleared regularly with the included "pusher" or "tamper." If the infeed material is damp it often jams the outfeed chute at the bottom and within the shredding assembly. These clogs can often be cleared by hand. (Don't forget to unplug first!) But every once in a while the whole infeed assembly and cover, the "Top Hamper," must be unscrewed and removed to get to the jams, and then replaced and screwed tight again. This is a pain.
When working properly without jamming the chipper-shredder puts out small pieces of material just about perfect to add to the mulch pile for organic breakdown. The reduction in size of the pile to be shredded to that of the outfeed is significant.
