Of all the reasons Wiss® compound action snips are the industry standard, it really comes down to a single word: durability. Wiss compound action snips have a proven record for long service life that’s unmatched. That’s why the pros who depend on their snips depend on Wiss.

With serrated blades to grab hold and aggressively cut through material, compound action to multiply the hand’s force by five times, and a self-opening spring action for a smooth, low-effort feed, there’s nothing “standard” about basic Wiss compound action snips. That’s why they’re the most popular professional snips in the world. Their wear-resistant molybdenum steel blades are made to stand up to the tremendous pressures created by the compound lever action, while their non-slip textured grips provide superior control, cutting material up to 18 gauge carbon steel.

Comments about Wiss 9-1/4" Metalmaster® Bulldog Snips - M5R:

I bought these snippers on a recommendation by Tom & Romona Ashman to use in their art book classes. Mostly, they are used to cut plumber's tape which is quite thick. The snippers are okay for cutting straight lines, but are not flexible enough to cut corners.
