I love how this looks above my peninsula counter in our kitchen. It's just perfect. But, ask my husband, and he might disagree, just because it was pretty frustrating for him to put up. (And he was an electrician for a while.) My only other suggestion would be don't expect it to put out a ton of light. It is perfect for mood light and even concentrated light right on the area it hangs over. Other than that, forget about it!
