Comments about Sylvania SA160 Dual Mode 24/12 Hour Digital Auto Shut-Off Timer:

It says it is a timer, but it really is a switch to turn on the light and to set how long you want it to countdown to shutdown. You can't set times to start or any of the things a timer does.

Comments about Sylvania SA160 Dual Mode 24/12 Hour Digital Auto Shut-Off Timer:

Most versatile, easy to setup count-down timer I’ve ever found. Precise to the second to 24 hours.
Easy-set the time, one time, thereafter just push the “on” button one time, like a regular light switch, and forget about “... did I turn that off ?”
Just in case something comes up and you can’t get to the turned-on thing in time or forget, presetting a precision digital turn-off timer is the way to go.

Also have installed a duplex AC outlet in the bathroom (one outlet slot for the timer, the other for a GFI outlet socket). There is always something that’s forgotten to be turned off. To the rescue is a count-down timer that shuts things off while you’re hurrying out the door.

Like these timers so much, installed two in the kitchen. No more worry about scheduling around or interrupting to go and turn off the slow cooker “crock-pot” and finding an overcooked pot of “mush”. If the dish requires 6 hours, set the timer for 6 hours and, let’s say 15 minutes. When you come home after a full day’s activity, a delicious freshly cooked dish is ready for you.

A word of caution. When first installing, be sure it’s wired in right and the connections are solid the first time. It can be very quickly destroyed wiring in wrong, this 120vAC device. Just follow the clear, very simple diagram instructions. No special tools needed. Even includes the “wire nuts” to hook it up.
