I put the fireplace in my bedroom for the heat. I heat my house with wood and have a wood stove in the livingroom. But the heat didn't circulate to the bedroom well. I didn't want a woodstove sticking out in the bedroom so opted for a fireplace and am very pleased with it. I got the fireplace with louvers and outside air kit and once it heats up it really circulates the heat into the room.
It drafts very well and is easy to light and get a roaring fire. For the price an excellent deal.
