The Saniplus system includes: Round toilet bowl, toilet tank, and macerating unit. (TOILET SEAT NOT INCLUDED)
The Saniplus is a system that is used to install a complete bathroom up to 15 feet below the sewer line, or even up to 150 feet away from a soil stack.
The macerating system of the Saniplus can handle up to four fixtures, toilet, hand basin, shower and bathtub.
The Saniplus toilet uses only 6 liters (1.6 USG) of water per flush.
The Saniplus is simplicity itself to install; there are just four connections.
- The macerating pump is connected to the spigot of a horizontal outlet toilet.
- The toilet tank is connected to the water supply.
- The macerating pump is connected to the small diameter discharge pipe work.
- The macerating pump is connected to electrical supply.
The Saniplus macerating system is comprised of a pressure chamber, which starts and stops the unit, and the motor, which drives the stainless steel macerator blades and pump.
To learn more about the macerating process please refer to What is a macerator? in the Specification Tab. A normal operating cycle for Saniplus takes about 10–20 seconds depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration; power consumption is therefore minimal.
The Saniplus is designed to provide vertical pumping up to 15 feet as well as a horizontal discharge, therefore a simple ball non-return valve is incorporated. This allows you to install a complete bathroom where previously this would have been impossible or where considerable capital equipment and structural work would have been necessary.

What is a Macerator?
	To "macerate" is to soften, to break in pieces. Our Saniflo macerating systems use a rotating cutting blade to liquefy human waste and toilet paper. When mixed with flushing water the waste is pumped into a sanitary sewer as a fine slurry.

Installing a bathroom where you want is often difficult and sometimes even impossible. The main drainpipe is either too far away, or the new bathroom or sink will be lower than the drainpipe, making conventional installation unworkable. So what you need is the Saniflo up flush toilet and macerating pump that requires minimal construction work.

Saniflo’s macerator units solve these problems, because they can grind and pump waste over a distance of 150 feet and up to a height of 18 feet. These systems automatically activate when required to reduce effluent to a slurry and pump it away to the soil stack, septic tank or sewer through small diameter discharge pipes. And here is how it works.

1. The toilet is flushed and the effluent is discharged by gravity through the rear spigot and into the macerator device. The effluent rises to a preset level, a micro-switch in the pressure chamber of the macerating device is activated.
2. Simple flapper style check valves on each of the side inlets close momentarily, while the blades inside rotate at 3,600 revolutions per minute and reduce any solids within the effluent into liquid, in about 3 or 4 seconds.
3. All waste is pumped into a sanitary gravity drain (a soil stack or a septic tank) through a standard pipe just ¾" or 1" in diameter. Once the liquid effluent is completely pumped out of the macerator, the micro-switch deactivates.
4. A non-return valve in the macerating unit prevents back-flow of the reduced effluent into the unit. The toilet refills with water. The macerator is now empty (apart from the water seal) and the system is ready for use again.
NOTE: Toilet flush is given priority if another appliance is simultaneously discharged until the effluent from the toilet is sufficiently reduced, so that pressure switch is deactivated. \

As a remodeling contractor and the first time I installed one, it was pretty straight forward. The instruction sheets need work, but overall seems to be a great product with no concrete cutting.

This was installed by a plumber and took some time due to inexperience. Used in a recording studio in my basement. Selected product due to lack of drain and space for installation. Works great, excellent water pressure with flush. Product was as I expected and I highly recommend this product.

Looks much better than the " raised apparatus" we had before, but the tank is wobbly and move every time we raise the toilet cover and seat. Wondering when it's going to leak or break. The professional installer told me that's the only issue he has with it.

Unfortunately the Saniplus unit, professionally installed by an experienced plumber, is unreliable to flush, rear gasket leaked, on occasion dirty water backflows into the toilet, and the pump often engages multiple times for an even an easy all liquid flush. Even light quantity of toilet paper takes up to 3 flushes to disappear (not water efficient therefore). The rear unit gasket leaked. The water in the tank somehow seems to leak back into the toilet about 1/4 of the time, therefore, if there is a check valve which is supposed to prevent this, it does not work. The pump does not run long, and although not really noisy, it is not quiet either.....and it often engages twice in a 2 minute time period.

The toilet gets only light use.....extremely disapointed and the plumber is aggravated.

We have installed our Saniplus toilet in the basement along with a shower stall and vanity sink. Have had no problems with it handling the water discharge from everything running at the same time. The toilet appears to be very well constructed. What impressed me was that the tank is insulated so it does not sweat. This is a plus in the basement especially since it is carpeted at present. Another plus is that the toilet sits flush to the floor since the waste tank and pump sits behind the toilet not under it. This means I was able to set my shower floor six inches above the concrete floor for the p-trap. If I did not have this option the shower would been too tall for the space I was installing it in. The only problem I see is that the flush handle is plastic and noticeably not white, it will be an easy fix to change it. I would certainly recommend this product to anyone looking for a solution in their basement.

This was a great find for us because we wanted a bathroom in the basement but did not have the plumbing for it. This was the perfect solution. It works great and looks great, too. We've had a little leaking with it-nothing major, but I think it just needs tightening and maybe a little cauk and it should be fine.

[...] I had to modify the installation of the unit to fit the drain in my downstairs bath area that required some creative engineering to fit the space and sewer configuration available. I also had to secure the unit in an unconventional way to the floor because I had laid the floor tile before the unit arrived and couldn't drill the required holes after the fact.Overall, I'm pleased with the SaniPlus unit I purchased but I still think the cost is a little high for what you get. I just had a Saniplus installed in my basement and so far it works great and look fantastic. Because the product has just been installed I can not comment on the long term reliabablity. It is a little noisy because it needs to pump the waste.
