The set screw threads in the handle were off center and would not allow the set screw to lock the handle on to the valve stem. A simple call to the customer service department and a replacement handle and set screw are being sent but, it will take 3 weeks because the item is on back order.
The escutheon attaches to the valve cover plate assembly via 2 sets of velcro--like stick on strips. In this price range I would expect something a bit more durable like a ring nut or fitting to affix the plate so it attaches more securely to the shower wall surface.
Overall, the build quality and look of the parts was good. The handle and spigot are hevty so make sure you use a brass or steel (preferably brass to resist corrosion) nipple to mount the spigot. I installed the rough with stops which allows you to shut off the water for servicing of the valve when it becomes necessary and routine maintenance. This is handy so, you don't inconvenience others by shutting off water to the house when making repairs or flushing the valves to periodically clean the valve screens.
Despite the minor issues I am still intending to purchase another for the guest bath. So, almost perfect is good enough for me!
