When we received this shower base, we were surprised that it was made of plastic. The description made no mention of what it was made of. We were expecting something heavier and more durable, but it was also a pleasant surprise lifting it out of the box and finding that one person could carry and install it without help. We are still working on building our shower, so we haven't yet used it for its real purpose, but we've been standing on it while working on the walls, plumbing, tile, etc, and it has held up fine with minimal creaking.

THIS SHOWER PAN FIT IN MY STANDARD 5FT TUB OPENING WITH MINIMAL ADJUSTMENT. THE GRID SUPPORT DESIGN ON THE BOTTOM ALLOWS ZERO FLEX WHEN INSTALLED. THIS PRODUCT IS GREAT.
