We needed a new vacuum that would work on both carpet and bare floors. The suction is good on carpets but for smaller rugs it will almost suck them in. It does not blow out dust like my older vaccum and that is great for my allergys. On hardwood floors the suction just isn't sufficient. It is very noisy and the hose is too short. Even with the attachments it was difficult for me to use it cleaning higher areas. I had to hold the vaccum while standing on the bed while my husband used it to clean the ceiling fan. Our old vaccum had a much longer hose and the attachments allowed me to clean our fans. I would buy it again if we had carpets however because we are taking out all of the carpets we will have to buy another vaccum for our hard wood floors.

You won't be disappointed with this vacuum. It went together easily and the performance is great. Picks up pet hair and dust off the carpet really good and grooms the carpet very nicely.

This was purchased for my everyday vacuum and is used on ceramic tile, hardwood floors and carpet. I usually go through a vacuum about every 18 months, largely due to having a cat that sheds a lot. I am amazed at the power this inexpensive vacuum has and how well it does on all types of floors. I like the bags as opposed to the bagless because it seems like it releases less dust when you change the bag in comparison to the bagless. I have high hopes of this vacuum lasting longer than 18 months!

Great value and performance cleaning carpets. Bought this given high rating by consumer reports plus relative light weight (16 lbs) and low cost. Very strong self-propel, so a little hard for my 11 year old helper to use with confidence, but it's manageable. Highly recommend if you're mostly concerned with quality performance and price vs. extras.
