I like this Kegerator except that I had to replace a few items and mess with the temperature unit inside the temperature control box to get the temperature lower than the allowed settings from factory. After wasting a full keg of beer I now have it flowing beautifully. Replace the regulator for a 2-guage and the beer line to 5' and install a temperature guage inside and everything will be great..
Comments about Nostalgia Electrics Keg O Rator:
Actually not a bad product after a few modifications. The unit comes with a non standard 2.5 lb tank vs a 5 lb tank (probably because a 5 lb tank would not fit in the unit), but there are places that will fill the tank. The beer line is only 4 ft and is 1/4" OD vs at least 5 ft with a 3/16" OD -- an easy fix - get a 1/4" to 3/16" stainless splice and cut out 3' of the 1/4" line and splice on 5' of 3/16" line. The regulator only shows the pressure of the tank, it does not show pressure to the keg - you have to dink around with a blue control knob and guess how much pressure is going to the keg based on beer flow - it's usable, but it would have been nice to have a 2 gauge system. Lastly, you may have to adjust the thermostat to get a colder temperature in the unit. After some tweeking I've got the unit down to about 36 degrees and the beer temp is about 38 degrees. Not bad - if it can be bought at the right price - The beer line and splicer is about[$]. If you added a new regulator it would add another [$]. A 1/2 Barrel uses up all of the inside because of the interior design - so if you went and bought a new regulator the tank and the new reg would probably have to be mounted outside the unit. The reg that comes with the system is OK but not perfect.
