Comments about Haier 1.5 Cu. Ft. 1700 watt Commercial Style Convection Oven:

We wanted a "Toaster Oven" like the lady next door uses in her kitchen to warm meals and do light cooking. Our lake place gets so hot, summer or winter, whenever the oven is turned on. I just about bought a regular toaster oven when I found the Haier 1.5 cubic foot, 1700 watt, commercial convection/rotisserie oven. I couldn't be more pleased with this oven and the results. I use the garage to grill year round, and setting the oven out there keeps the heat out of the cottage. The exterior of the oven gets hot, so I would be careful if it was on a counter top around plastic items. My wife is delighted with the results of my "testing" this unit. I've made pies, rolls, brownies, biscuits, frozen casseroles, 12" frozen pizza, rotisserie beef roast, two 4 pound rotisserie chickens at once... I've pretty much had it going non stop in the two weeks since I got it fired up. It came with a drip pan, two drying racks, two oven racks, the rotisserie rod with two clamps and a handle to pull the rod out when it is hot. This oven came ready to go. By the way, my 1/2 sheet baking pans (standard cookie sheet size) slide right into the oven slots in place of the racks. Great for making cookies.
The books says "no need to warm the oven up" but I found the baked goods took max time or a little more, so I'm preheating before baking.
The settings are easy to use. It has temperature setting up to 450 degrees; the book says you can slow cook at 175 degrees using the "Constant On" setting on the timer. I like that. I didn't like the idea that I had to run out and turn the timer back on every 2 hours like on some models. The rotisserie is WONDERFUL! The roast was crispy on the outside and the inside was juicy. The chickens browned crisp on the skin and the meat fell off the bone so tender and the breast was juicy. The book says this oven will roast a 22 pound turkey so I can't wait for Thanksgiving to try it out. If you are a perfectionist, you will find that baking pies and breads without turning them, you can see a slight difference in browning directly in front of the convection fan. Next time I plan to turn my pie once or twice so that the top browns more evenly. It wasn't burnt, just slightly darker in one area... I'm picking at straws here.
The unit is a little bigger than a standard microwave, so it really isn't the countertop "toaster oven" that we set out to try. I'm using it as a auxiliary (or replacement) oven to keep the heat out of the kitchen, and I couldn't be more pleased with my results.

We love it! It does everything we wanted it to do. It is quiet for a convection oven which tend to be a little noisy. We have had a convection oven before that was much louder. The product is great .[...]

    Loud

Comments about Haier 1.5 Cu. Ft. 1700 watt Commercial Style Convection Oven:

Dissappointing; very loud and continous fan should have been in discription and I surely would have passed for another brand. We neede to replace our 20+ year old unit; so sorry to see it go.
