    Judging the book by its cover...

    Pros:
    Heats Up Quickly, High-Powered Burners, Large Surface Area
    Cons:
    Burners too widely spaced, Difficult To Clean, Grates need more stabilit, GRATES very heavy, Sooo many things, Temperature control is not precise

    Comments about Fisher & Paykel 36 in 5 Burner Split Oven Gas Range - OR36LDBGX1:

    Can't specifically control temperatures in either oven: dials 1-8 with their approx temps and you have to "gauge" accordingly. Had several probs from the time of deliv/installation: gas smell (determined to be from a "missing" gasket within the factory assembled portion of the gas distribution piping - after the regulator; one of the feet would not telescope (had to use a couple of wood shimms until that part came); smaller oven "convection" fan quit working immediately after the tech left (Jan.'08) and we were just told the replacement part will not be available until "maybe" June '08; setting the timer is difficult; burner grates have TOO much open space which can cause your pots to tip; great for broiling in either oven - but you need to be extra dilligent about immediate cleanup - and THIS UNIT's OVENS ARE NOT SELF-CLEANING...
